I really need to learn how to juggle.
Lucky for me that my job (for 2 months after I left Myfreight) was Productivity Coaching!
Firstly, thanks to all those who voted for Passel in Startup Stars. I don’t think we’re as sexy as cool socks, or as interesting as teaching girls STEM, but I think we made a good show of it. Julian gets to find out who won at a nice lunch on Friday.
Meanwhile, I’ll be wearing out more shoe leather at the Online Retailer Expo in Sydney (http://www.onlineretailer.com/sydney/expo/ ). I’ll be at Stand 11 if I’m not wandering around trying to set up channel partners with all of the e-commerce shipping integration platforms.
It’s free to attend if you are a retailer. I’m not sure how broad the definition of “retailer” is.
Julian has the shopping cart integrations underway. His focus is to make Passel a “one-click” solution for our retail partners. We should be doing all the heavy lifting on our side and don’t want to make this a challenge for anyone to implement.
It’s been amazing the effect that Julian has had on me in the last few weeks. Although I have never wavered in my belief that Passel will succeed, having someone of Julian’s stature and experience drinking deeply of the Passel Kool-Aid has strengthened that knowledge even more.
Pitching and more pitching
It won’t surprise you that I genuinely pitch Passel in my sleep. (We’ve all been there, right?).
I had a crack at Melbourne Silicon Beach the other night. It’s like open-mic night but for startups.
“How is everyone tonight?”
Video, and better jokes –
There’s a pretty cool, free event coming up in Melbourne – The Sentient Inception Pitch night.
There’s a $2000 prize for the winner. If you are interested in coming along and heckling the other startups, tickets are here –
Mid-August Passel Delivery Member Drive
Although Passers seem to be signing up of their own volition (25 in the past 3 weeks), I’d like to roll into September with a few thousand people signed up and ready to deliver. To that end, I need to do something really cool and creative on a small marketing budget.
One of the best suggestions has been some version of “Pass the Passel”. I’m open to ideas as to what that might look like. I’m also open to better ideas!
Again, thanks for all your feedback, help and support. If you want to follow Passel on social media, the links are below.
